Artists over 18 years old who are looking to further their education in crafts or arts are invited to apply for the Barb Symon Scholarship.
The award of up to $200 will be made again this year as a continuation of a scholarship fund made in the name of the artist, a weaver and a long-time member of Bay Area Art Association. The scholarship may be applied to workshop or class fees, or travel and lodging expenses.
Symon was a founder of the East Ludington Gallery. The scholarship was established by her husband, Charles, in her memory.
Applicants will be accepted until May 2, 2016. This year’s recipient will be announced at the opening reception of the Bonifas Membership Show on Thursday, May 19.
