Residents can buy raffle tickets, perhaps winning an exciting prize while supporting the Bonifas Arts Center, with winners announced at the Bonifas’ annual Auction for the Arts fundraiser May 14.
The winners will enjoy a one-night getaway to Mackinac Island; a made-for-you piece of art by award-winning painter Tracy Anderson, who specializes in children’s and pet portraits, though the winner could choose a different subject, such as a family home; $500; and a pair of Players de Noc season tickets.

Tickets can be purchased at the Bonifas or at the U.P. State Bank April 22-29, said Christina Carlin, Bonifas special events coordinator. Tickets are $5 each or $25 for six.
Residents also can donate art, sports memorabilia, or other items to the auction through April 23, said Carlin.
A collection of “beautiful artwork” of all sizes and styles, as well as other items, will be auctioned May 14 at the cocktail-party event, to be catered by The Stonehouse.
A silent auction will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the raffle drawing at approximately 8:30 p.m., and then a live auction for higher-value items, said Carlin.
People will be able to bid on art and other items, “a little of everything,” with “something for everybody,” she said.
