This two and a half hour class, will introduce you to the medium of Scratchboard and adding color. Scratchboard black is a white clay board that has had black ink applied. The technique requires scratching away the black to reveal the white underneath. This class will also teach the technique of adding color. Scratchboard is known for being highly detailed. This class will teach the basic techniques for working on scratchboard black and adding color. White clayboard will also be introduced, which is a white board that can be painted or inked first and then the details and tonal values can be scratched. We will be primarily using xacto knives, but other tools will also be available to use.
