In todays anxiety inducing world the knowledge of self-defense is critical. Make yourself and your family safer by learning the practical self-defense techniques taught by Black belt in Ji Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do and professional self-defense instructor Dennis Dufek. Students will gain a new sense of confidence in themselves, both mentally and physically in their ability to defend themselves in a critical situation. The techniques taught: breathing, hand and foot strikes, finger gouges, biting techniques, proper falling techniques, throws and nerve and joint manipulation.
Session 1:
A: Instructor Introduction / Why are you here (student introduction)?
B: Mental preparation (lecture and handouts) (Address fears and insecurities)
C: Breathing Control (instruction and practice)
D: Stretching and physical conditioning
Session 2: Students will learn and practice kicking techniques, striking techniques and proper falling techniques in this session.
Session 3: Students will learn and practice nerve and joint manipulation along with vital striking areas on the human body. Students will review and practice all techniques learned in previous sessions
Session 4: Students will review and practice all techniques learned from sessions 1-3
Session 5: Students will be put in a physical attack situation where they will be able to apply the newly learned self-defense skills. (Practical Application)
Session 6: Final Practical Application Testing and Confidence Builder
Note: Sessions will be geared to each student’s physical abilities. Students should know and understand that learning self-defense is mentally and physically demanding, you will be pushed to your limits.
