2016 is a year linking the arts to all community members. Art center staff and newly elected board members look forward to a year of more people enjoying art here at the Bonifas in all types of new & exciting ways.

We want to exhibit more of your art, offer classes and workshops that you will enjoy and provide wonderful art experiences for you, your family and friends — our collective community.

You can plan an exciting summer this year at Ludington Park as we present free concerts with Music Mondays and as we develop a more dynamic Waterfront Arts Festival weekend led by the combined efforts with the city of Escanaba, the Delta County Chamber of Commerce, and the Delta County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Our commitment to the schools stays strong as we support our youth with programs both here at the art center and in the schools. This spring we will celebrate student work with our Youth in Art Exhibit and Talent Show. We’ll also prepare for our fall fourth grade field trips that will reinforce the science curriculum with creative and hands-on learning methods. Keep your eye out for more after school and family programs as we partner with 4H.

You deserve more great community theatre and so we will be upgrading the fly system here in the Bonifas theater. As home of Players de Noc, it will be a busy year as we work with them to raise funds to match a state grant and complete the project.

Our programs and events reflect an ever-widening community that includes you, so each of us can say “We are the Bonifas.”
