The Bonifas Arts Center received its annual contribution from Thrivent Financial, thanks to donations from its Thrivent members.
From left, Dan Young, Bobbie McDonough and Brian Pahnke at Thrivent presented a check for $1,138 to Sue Roll, Bonifas business manager, and Pasqua Warstler, Bonifas executive and gallery director.
The donations are based on "Choice Dollars" designated by Thrivent members. Members become eligible for the money based on insurance premiums, contract values and Thrivent volunteer leadership. Eligible members can then direct their "Choice Dollars" to enrolled charities such as the Bonifas.
Young said it's a great program to help local charities and non-profits. Yet, members don't often know they can direct the giving of the money.
"About $20,000 went undirected in 2015 from the Thrivent office in Escanaba," Young said.
If you are a Thrivent Financial member, considering giving your "Choice Dollars" to the Bonifas.
"We appreciate those with Thrivent that contribute their 'choice dollars' to us," said Roll. "The money is important to the continued operations of the Bonifas."
Thrivent Financial is located 1612 Ludington Street in Escanaba.
